Fax

It may seem to be very strange to discuss fax machines in the age of internet. But the fact is that fax machines were and remain as one of the most widely used forms of electronic communication. Several ministries are using fax machines creatively. It is possible to link together the fax machines and e-mail by means of gateways.
‘Fax’ is the short form of ‘Facsimile’ which means exact reproduction. Some people refer it as ‘telefax’, since it sends its copies to a distant place. The Greek word ‘tele’ means ‘at a distance’. A fax machine works exactly in a similar way like a photocopier, except that the screening head and the printer talk to each other through telephone, instead of being wire together.
